STAR Certified Smog Check
We are a California licensed STAR certified smog station in Murrieta. That matters because the DMV directs a share of vehicles to a STAR station only — a regular test-only shop legally cannot certify those cars. Bring us your renewal notice and we handle it either way.
Most inspections take about 20–30 minutes. Results are transmitted electronically to the DMV the moment your vehicle passes, so in most cases you can renew online before you leave the parking lot.

If your check engine light is on, we tell you before testing — a lit MIL is an automatic fail and you would be paying twice.

Visual, functional and OBD-II inspection on our state-certified equipment.

Passing results go straight to the DMV electronically and you get your certificate at the counter.

Repair if needed
As a test-and-repair station we can diagnose and fix a failure in-house, then retest.

What is a STAR station and do I need one?
STAR stations meet higher state performance standards. If your DMV notice says 'test at a STAR station,' only a STAR station can certify your car. We are one.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Smog checks are walk-in. Call ahead if you want to be sure a lane is open.
What if my car fails?
We are a test-and-repair station, so we can diagnose the failure, quote the repair and retest the vehicle here instead of sending you to a second shop.
